Critical Update: | New York | Aldelo POS EDC SHA-2 Credit Card Processing

Starting December 28th 2016 several credit card processing platforms will begin migration from SHA-1 (Secure Hash Algorithm), a popular hashing algorithm used by the majority of processing gateways for their SSL certificates, to SHA-2 or TLS (Transport Layer Security), a much stronger cryptographic algorithm.

Many technology companies including Google and Microsoft plan to phase out SHA-1 algorithm in early 2017, making SHA-2 or SHA-256 a new standard. This means that POS software, as well as an Operating System should be updated in order to be compliant with SHA-256. Otherwise, there is a chance that your POS System will not be able to accept credit cards and/or be PCI Compliant.

To ensure you are SHA-2/TLS complaint and will be able to process credit cards past December 28th deadline:
1). Aldelo for Restaurants Pro must be version 3.8 Rev 5000 or later
2). Aldelo EDC must be Version 7.0.6123.653
3). Operating system must be Windows 7 or later and Windows Server 2008 R2 or later.

If you are not SHA-2/TLS Complaint you will be receiving the following error on your POS System:
Process Time Put Reversal Failed: VXN SimpleTransaction Failed, Error Code: Invalid SSL Certificate (VXN: 062) [Original Error: Process Credit Transaction Failed: VXN SimpleTransaction Failed, Error Code: Invalid SSL Certificate (VXN: 062) [Datawire VXN Time Out After 30 Seconds]]
