In addition to harmful impact on the environment, the New York State has passed a law making it illegal to throw out electronics in trash starting January 1st 2015. Starting this date, a business must contact a manufacturer of the electronic equipment for instructions on how to dispose of the e-waste. The other option is to request a specialized e-waste collector to pick it up. Obviously, these services will not come cheap.
